It's official I'm a Graduate. Got some amazing gifts and had an amazing time. The trip was very busy. Basically, we went to a festival with friends and family to see scouting for girls (who were the best), squeeze, top loader, and Heather Small. Then when the festival ended we brought home with us some friends and basically unloaded and reloaded the car for graduation. At graduation the days ran like this:
On Day One, we unpacked and we were staying in a Holiday park, just down the road from the university.
On day two, after settling in. We then set off to get my degree. Registration wasn't busy at all. We got a program seeing my name inside it, brought my nerves and excitement to boiling point in my stomach. Basically, I was very nervous. Then before the ceremony I had to get my gown, I bought the hat, as a memento. The gown was very heavy by the end my arms were arching. Then we got photos taken which arrived quite recently and they are amazing. We then went to P5 to say goodbye to my Education tutors and for tea and coffee. Honestly, at this point, I was holding in the tears as I couldn't believe I was leaving. It felt so amazing that I had achieved so much. Then the ceremony was at 3 PM but all students had to be there for the 2.45 PM for ceremony rehearsal.
During the ceremony at 3 PM, the anticipation was killing me, I just wanted to go up there and grab my degree and scream 'I did it!', but I couldn't so oh well. Mum cried within the first 2 minutes a new record probably. She also yelled as my name was called to walk on stage to shake hands with the head of the university and the mayor. After the ceremony we went to the library to collect my degree certificate, it is now safely put away with my GCSE certificates in case I need it for interviews but we plan to frame it. I am a qualified artist and educational list now.
On day three, we went for a walk around town and went to accessorize for the last time as we don't have one in our home town. Then we went back to the holiday park for a walk and had ice cream. Well Mum and Dad did, I had a mega hot chocolate which was really amazing. We also went inside the arcade and won a pirates sword for Halloween which we have themed pirates. We also went to the school of art for the last time and gave my art tutors presents.
On Day Four, before going home we went to St. David's to stay at the Old School Hostel for Mum's birthday celebrations and to see Chris and Sue again. Before arriving at the hostel we went bodyboarding at white sands beach. Then we went to the hostel and got a lovely welcome as usual. There were birthday signs all around the room we stayed in which was lovely, we got wine from Chris and Sue to celebrate and we shared it with them. Well just Sue as Chris wasn't there. We went out for dinner at the pub down the road, which is under new ownership and they do amazing fish and chips.
On day five, we finished breakfast at the mill café. Always the greatest breakfast ever there and looked in the shop for weaving kits for Mum. Motions were low as we all had to go back to work but it was so amazing. Here are some photos from the days below. I would like to say a massive thank you to all my friends and family for supporting me throughout university life and especially to my boyfriend who made the 3rd year of university the best year of my life.
