Over the weekend, I went to the Great North Run. We stayed at a friends, the first day we set off we drove past the Angel of the North. Got there for about 7.15 and had dinner and long chat before bed begun to call me and my dad.
Next day was Great North Run day, we got up for 8am and left quite quickly. We dropped off my dad and our friend at a coach to get to the Great North and then me and another friend drove there. At the local pub we had breakfast, he had a full English and I had a sausage sandwich and hash browns. At around 12 we set off to meet dad at the finish. he managed to do it in 1 hour 53 minutes. So, he beat his last time which was 2 hours 10 minutes. After we met up with friends and watched the rest of the Run. We then decided to go to the grotto for some drinks. Which is a pub right on the coast, it has a lift or stairs to the coast. It was beautiful. We then had a drink in the local pub at the friends place we were staying at and got obligatory fish and chips.
We left the next day. We stayed most of the morning for a good catch up. Me I had to be surgically removed from their sofa, as I got comfy and fell asleep. We set off at about 1ish and stopped to get lunch for about 2pm, well not really lunch just some snacks bits for the car. We stopped at about 4 for dad to have a sleep and got McDonalds. I had to have a happy meal, their compulsory no matter how old you are. I got a Roald Dahl book. I also got a galaxy McFlurry which was amazing.
