In honour of todays remember today on the 11/11/2018.
4 years ago, when I was doing English literature in 6th form. Me and my dad wrote a poem called stiff upper lip, I wrote it as we were studying war literature and it touched my heart and soul to know what these soldiers did for our people.
With that said here is the poem, Lest we forget.
The Stiff Upper Lip
A stiff upper lip we are to keep. Orders from the Pips, we must leap.
A stiff upper lip is hard to maintain. This trench, our life does drain. This trench is that I call home, If that’s the case, why do I feel alone?!
We fight for our country, we fight for a cause. We fight to prevent our lives from being on pause.
Our families at home await our return Hoping our life did not fade away and burn. While those thoughts course through my head, I hear the echo of command Once again my life they demand.
As I hear the shouts from the Pip, I prepare my mind body and soul and remember to keep a stiff upper lip.
This is not apart of the poem.
For 2 minutes today.
This little note is a reminder. That all though they fought back then. Some still fight today, the soldiers, the police in all departments in every country and all community services are here to keep us safe and to make sure we live a great life.
Lest we forget no one.
Also here is some photography and paintings of poppies.
I may post a drawing or painting of a poppy some point next week to hour those we can never forget.
