Recently, I applied to do a PGCE in Art and Design, it has always been my dream to be a teacher. I have been through the professional skills tests and realized they are much harder than I thought. As time was overall very busy and I concluded that I didn't have enough to book another test. I have deferred my university place. My tutor was very nice and supportive and said I can reapply when I'm ready.
So, I decided to look for apprenticeships to perhaps do instead of teaching or to do before I get into teaching. I thought this was a better decision as it released the pressure and stress off my shoulders, that was weighing me down. I have also quit my part-time job and I'm looking for full-time work to get kick-started into the world of being a full-time employee.
I have found two apprenticeships, for data protection I will not reveal what those apprenticeships are until I have permission. But I think they both cover my initial reason for wanting to be a teacher. Which is wanting to help make a student feel the exact same way I felt when I saw my dream job. Plus they both look fun, arty, and exciting. Hopefully, I will get the one I want the most and will love work so much it won't feel like work.
