Day 24 of lockdown

Today was good sorted my work bad for when I go in. Also sorted out a notebook for work and for ideas for Edward the Alien book 2 & 3.

Then I went for a run, I did 1.45km. I had a really nice shower and made today another pajama day. I sat down with pitta bread and Taramasalata. I finished some work. Then did some sketches for Edward the Alien book 3.

Yesterday I ate the head off a flamigo. Quite literally! It tasted very nice.

Now, as promised here it is.

Chapter 9 of The Secret

Chapter 9

A war that what they had themselves into.

The girls were given their own desks with computers.

They were dinosaur computers, old. They had keyboards. But not normal ones.

Instead of keys, it had a squishy top that looked like a stress toy. With hand print in.

The girls put their hands on it.

Suddenly they were both in a dessert with guns.

It was a simulation.

They fought the aliens, the aliens died but they didn't. This way they never lost soldiers.

But something went wrong one day.

Astrid and Melina were well into the job now, they had been there 2 years.

One day the whole family was called into a big dark room.

The girls kept having a dream of an x and someone saying "the war ends when x marks the spot, then you will go to the top."

They had no idea what it meant, until now.

They walked in to see a large man sitting on a large chair, with a big red button just in front of his hand. Astrid looked down just before he pressed the big red button.

"X marks the spot" she whispered.

He said the words in their dream.

Just before they turned to dust and transported to a world of dust. Were nothing but pine cones from disintegrated trees. Lay covered in blood.

Here are some ideas for Edward the Alien book 3. Still have done some ideas for some illustrations for this short story yet and other stories. I will get round to it eventually though. I took inspiration from a friends Instagram called editing. I lobe her photos they are always inspiring.
