Chapter 9
A town.
Untouched.
Cured maybe even immune.
The town around Sam’s home was a crater, a ditch, which created a wall around it. The bomb had unearthed many sink holes. To which every house fell into. This town had a sink hole of its own.
Every house, home had fallen inside it.
As they drove through the wall. The car jerked down the bumpy tunnel. Lavender and Louie Braked violently, as they fell at a cascading speed down this tunnel. They came to a halt at the bottom.
The town was buzzing with life. Lavender felt a pain in her stomach.
Only to get out of the car for someone else to drive. Ellie got in the driver’s seat, ‘with all these people, there must be a doctor around here somewhere.’ She said as she started the engine and begun to drive on the pavement of this crumbling town.
The town seemed almost perfect. Although it had sank. It had sunk intact. The minute they saw someone. They dragged lavender out of the car. She had gone pale, they needed help fast.
The other person grabbed her off Ellie, thinking she had been bitten but Ellie explained what had happened. Then the other person seemed completely unfazed by the situation. He knew exactly what to do. They got to the town’s local hospital. Where she was rushed into surgery. But, as soon as, all were in the surgery, they were given a hot cup of coffee.
Lavenders wound healed immediately.
This was the cure or was it a fake?
They were all stunned by the situation.
How???
How could coffee be the cure, was there a vaccination in the coffee or something? The nurses explained that coffee was a naturally boosting the immune system to help you get through the disease quicker. Which seemed ridiculous, how could you cure someone who was dead?
Here is the development of the illustration for this chapter.
